With an abundance of gift concepts in the market, The Novel Encounter wanted to provide customers with a platform for literary-inclined products with a vintage touch. The brand seeks to encourage and celebrate lovers of literature, and find solace in gifts with a sentimental inclination.

For The Novel Encounter’s niche offering of selling gifts in a saturated space, we went with an authentic and adventurous angle. We play with the themes of anticipation, vintage romance in a modern era, and offered escapism in the form of bespoke gifts.

We strategised to engage with The Novel Encounter’s passionate following with many intriguing social activations around the theme of gift giving, for both their mysteriously wrapped books adorned with a vintage wax seal, and bespoke poetry - give the head curator three words and have it composed into a poem.

Both these activations have resonated with consumers, with our digital and socially-led campaigns entertaining, engaging and inspiring both book lovers and casual readers alike to gift themselves and loved ones with The Novel Encounter’s whimsical product offerings.

The poetry has proven so popular it has been engaged with a book deal to be published October 2018. The Novel Encounter has been featured in multiple media articles like The Straits Times, Vulcan Post and TimeOut Singapore.
